My Projects
This is my projects from my Digital Leadership class.

Building Academic & Personal Goals
BHAG: My BHAG is to become a business owner who is self-made and financially stable.
WHY: I am inspired by having a contribution to my community, creating a legacy, and going after a lifelong passion.
HOW: I will challenge myself every day in school, studying, and staying up late at night to acquire the knowledge a real successful business owner needs.
WHAT: I will create a stable and welcoming business structure that is a safe space for everyone and is focused on the community as a whole.
Long-term goals: At LU, I want to continue to put my all into my studies to get the best knowledge out of my classes. Beyond college, I want to possibly have a family-owned business of a bar or restaurant that is successful and in my family forever.

Becoming a Self-Differentiated Leader
What are your leadership goals for the next four years?
My leadership goals for the next four years are to be active in my school's community. This consists of joining groups and organizations to make more of an impact while still balancing school work and having fun. After graduating from Lamar in 2 years, I plan to stay a leader in my community by hopefully opening up my own business a couple of years after. I can do this by working hard, learning from past mistakes, and involving myself in opportunities.
What are the challenges or barriers that keep you from being a self-differentiated leader?
My biggest barrier that keeps me from being a self-differentiated leader is being shy or unconfident. Throughout high school, I had a hard time with public speaking and talking to new people because of my nerves, which is vital to being a leader. I also feel as though I have big ideas or something to say, but I constantly hold myself back because I am afraid of what other people will think of it. I am trying to get out of these grooves in college by putting myself out there more and believing in myself and what I know I can do.
Why do you need a strategy to deal with conversations that have high stakes, strong emotions, and differing opinions?
A strategy is needed to deal with high-stakes conversations because, without it, the point gets lost. You need a strategy to be prepared so that your thoughts and what you are trying to say are communicated clearly without misinterpretation. Misinterpretation and strong emotions lead to the point being confused, saying unnecessary things, and bigger problems that weren't there before arising. A strategy set the conversation up to be simple, effective, clear, and proactive.

Developing a Research Agenda and/or Course of Study
1. What is your specific area of interest (major/minor) and which specific avenue are you considering to do research and study more closely? It is okay if you are still navigating this journey, just indicate as such.
Right now, my major is General Business. A specific avenue I am considering to study closely is owning my own business, like a restaurant or bar.
2. What are some of the challenges you think you will face as you navigate your steps ahead with research or or course of study?
Some challenges I think I will face with this are the several small, complex parts that go into starting a completely new business. I am also going to need a lot of connections on top of my knowledge to really get things done and get my business out there.
3. Which professional networks or organizations do you belong to, whether they relate to your future resesarch or course of study?
I am not currently in any specific professional networks or organizations, but I am very interested because network and connections are very important to me.
